i rode the blackness of space
from one star to the next
i have gone.
distant planets i have visited and
many different people i have seen;
my mind wonders back to my home,
how many miles away and i think
of times i use to look up in the night
sky and say i want to
be a rocket man;
how many years has there been
since that faithful wish has
been cast to the sky,
now i travel back and
forth across the sky,
wishing someday to return home.
